The coronavirus, Covid-19, continues to cause havoc in our lives both personally and professionally. We have all seen tremendous changes in just the last few weeks in our workplace.
As the numbers continue to increase, we will find it hitting closer to home. It is natural to wonder whether we have personally been exposed to the virus. However, individuals’ health information is private under the law and the names of anyone who tests positive will not be disclosed. As anxious as we all are about the spread of the virus, we must respect one another’s right to privacy during this period.
We are working with management to make sure that any member who has worked in proximity to someone who tests positive is notified about possible exposure and given appropriate medical guidance.
Please remember that to help prevent Covid-19 the CDC recommends frequent hand washing, avoid close contact (6 feet or more apart), staying home if you are sick and disinfecting frequently. This information can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html Let's do our part by cleaning up after ourselves and respecting shared areas at work. And while social distancing should be maintained when possible, it should not turn us into strangers. Take care of yourselves and each other.
